Subject: NEW! Hilarious '80s caption on TV's Most Outrageous Game Show Moments 2

:D
NEW! ;D
see link here of what I'm describing
http://www.modestypanel.com/b3ta_2/tophat_sm.gif
Did anyone else see 'TV's Most Outrageous Game Show Moments 2?'
Of all the clips they showed, the funniest was from an '80s show called 'Catch Phrase'
The contestant had to guess the catch phrase from a partially hidden cartoon sequence.
Anyway, there were 2 cartoon characters, a top-hat wearing peanut, and a very happy
green snake. First you see the peanut character rapidly moving his right arm up and down
below his waist. But wait, it gets better...then you see the happy snake bobbing up and
down just below the peanut's waist. ;) It was sooooooo funny! The game show host
and the contestant were trying to figure out what the two characters were doing....but
like the audience, it seemed that the peanut and snake were ....well ...you can guess.
It turns out that the catch phrase was 'snake charmer' and the top-hat wearing peanut
was moving about trying to charm the snake.ÂÂ
It is the funniest thing I have EVER seen. If anyone has a copy on VHS, please let me
know. :)

I remember Catchphrase (hosted in Britain by Irish comedian Roy Walker) fondly as a kid every Sunday night about 7:00 (after Bullseye with another ex-comedian called Jim Bowen).
Mr Chips was the main character on the computer screen. :)

CATCH PHRASE was a brief game show in the USA c. mid-1980s. Don't know if any copies of it still exist.

There was another funny clip on that show from the British version of Family Feud, which I believe was called Family Fortunes. This one involved a middle-aged Englishman who answered all of the survey questions with "turkey." (Example: "Name something you take to the beach." Answer: "Turkey!") I have a sneaking suspicion that Thanksgiving is this guy's favorite holiday... ;D

I didn't know that! Of all the game shows that I watched as a little kid in the 80s, that wasn't one of them. Heck, I thought Catch Phrase was in the UK or something. :-\\

Yeah, the Turkey one was funny too.
AND he won a ton of points for 'Things you stuff' with that answer.

I love watching those kind of shows. I usually end up crying from laughing so hard. I have seen the clip with the snake and the one with the guy saying "Turkey". Of course there is that "infamous" one on the Newlywed Game about the woman who was asked where is the most unusual place you have made "whoopie". Anyone who has seen that knows the answer. ;)

Er... The UK doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving. That clip was hilarious though! Apparently the guy overheard the answer to the second question thinking it was the first question...and then followed suit with the same answer for the rest of the questions. Something like that, anyway. :)

Yes the guy that cried 'Turkey' on Family Fortunes. I vaguely remember Les Dennis wondering whether this old gent was for real.
Another one for you folks - 'Beating the bishop'.

In honour of 'Mr.Peanut' the star of 'Catch Phrase' (in this instance)
I am inventing a 'new' term for 'it'.
'Peeling the Peanut'
...hope you like.

The one I was thinking of, Cat lol. The five knuckle shuffle. I heard someone use the term 'Greeting Madame Palm and her five daughters' once but that just sounds stupid.
I'm sorry I'll stop now. :D

Hi!
I found my way onto this forum when I was searching for a clip of this show. I saw the animated gif that had been posted, but I knew that there was an actual video clip out there somewhere. As I eventually found it, I thought I'd post the link for you folks. Gotta be one of the best bloopers ever.
