Subject: Bob Seger Poll - 1980's

Written By: eightiesfan on 07/22/04 at 7:39 am

Shakedown (cool song from Beverly Hills Cop II) and Like A Rock (I was listening to this song on the radio this morning and kept being reminded of the Chevy truck commercial)

I just voted for Shakedown. Like a Rock has been so overplayed in the commercials, that that's all it reminds me of, which to me, isn't a good thing.

BTW, eightiesfan...I made one of these polls a few months ago...it's probably way back on Page 1 or 2 of this board.  :)

I voted in the 70's one, so now I vote in the 80's one.  My fave was "Understanding" which was one of 4 hits from the excellent excellent 1984 film "Teachers" :)

'Shame on the Moon'. A beautiful, yet underrated song. This song really brings back memories of the early 80's.

Of all the ones on the list, I went with "American Storm" - nice rocking song with 80's keyboards thrown in.

Not on the list, but "Even Now" from 1983's The Distance is a similar sounding catchy song. ;)

I also like the piano ballad "Understanding" as well as Beverly Hills Cop 2's "Shakedown". If you liked Glenn Frey's "Heat is On" you'll probably like this one.

"Old Time Rock & Roll" is my 'other' choice...even tho', back in that day...you could get me out on the floor when they started playing disco....it's become a family event favorite....whenever I hear it can picture my 'little baby brother" dancing, happy memories

I can't go past " Old Time Rock & Roll". I know it came out in '79, but it was twice re-released in the 80s.

Yeah, I voted for that one too.  It went to no. 2 on the Billboard pop charts, yet they rarely play it on those classic rock stations.

My favorite Bob Seger's song is definately "Living Inside My Heart" which can be seen in About Last Night......  That is probablly one of those most romantic love scenes in any 80's movie that I can think of.  That song is just so perfect!!
