Ever since May of 1981 when I first heard her sweet voice pour over the radio from "The Rock Of Chicago"...A.M. 89 WLS...I was hooked. I have always liked "Morning Train" the best...In fact, I like that WHOLE debut LP :)

Wow!
After reading that and looking at all the other IDs that voted for a song by her, I'm going to hold off on my
"I don't like Sheena Easton" vote.  :-[

Yeah Morning Train. She also sang with Prince on his 1987 hit 'U got the look'.

I thought her early clutch of stuff wasn't bad...typical radio-friendly pop, before she went a bit 'plastic' as the 80s wore on...

'Modern Girl' for me...basically because you never hear it much anymore...

I had to go with 'Strut', but 'For Your Eyes Only' and 'Morning Train' are also cool songs. OTOH, you did leave out 'The Lover In Me', and for the Miami Vice fans around here like me, shouldn't we include 'Follow My Rainbow'? It's a pity we don't hear much from Sheena these days. If anyone wants more info on her, go to this address:

This is tough for me. I do like Sheena (in fact, I named a cat Sheena) I like Stut, Modern Girl, and For Your Eyes Only. She also did the Wind Beneath my Wings before Bette did. She did it very well but I think Bette did it much better.

I did like "Morning Train" when it came out, but I was too young to realize how ditzy a song it was.  I had to vote for "I Don't Like..."
Sheena Easton is the songbird equivalent of Sean Young!

I think Glamourus Life and Love Bizarre were the biggest ones.

Prince provided hits for both women, and certainly boosted their careers, but I wouldn't say either was a "protoge," in the sense that Apollonia was a protoge of Prince.

Sheena Easton had already scored international chart toppers with "Morning Train" "For Your Eyes Only," (from the Bond film of the same title), and "Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair)," before hooking up with Prince.

Whereas Sheena Easton was just a songbird, Sheila E. was a very talented Latin percussionist.  She was a professional music family, the Escovedos.  When Sheila E. hit it big she was already a veteran the group Azteca, led by her father, Pete "Coke" Escovedo.

Anyway, I always thought Sheena Easton was a bimbo.  Prince would only discuss business with her "in bed."  After Sinead O'Connor topped the charts with Prince's song "Nothing Compares To You," Prince went over and tried to get her in the sack.  That didn't go over too big with the bald chick.  She threw him out.

Sheena Easton was really cool and sexy  on eighties
she was able to mix passion and force in the  same song
I always like to listen to  "we've got  tonight" (duet with Kenny Roggers)
and "The lover in me"  from 1989

I think 'Sugar Walls" will go down as my favorite, because Prince unleashed a freak side to her. He made her naughty. Remember prior to that recording she had such a goody-two shoes image.

I vote Strut.

I am a massive Sheena Easton fan and followed her career from the start in 1980.

My faves from her are:

The Lover In Me
101
Days Like This
No Deposit, No Return

I'm also addicted to her 1991 single "What Comes Naturally". That song just blew me away the moment I heard it.

In my opinion, she's the most talented female solo artist since the history of popular music.

She's the best.

9 To 5 is the same as morning Train.

In the uk the song was called "9 To 5" and in the US it was called "Morning Train (9 To 5)" to avoid confusion with the Dolly Parton classic.

Here's an amuzing story ...
In Canada, 'Morning Train (Nine to Five)' by Sheena Easton replaced '9 to 5' by Dolly Parton at the top of the charts.  Both songs spent 2 weeks at the top

i don't think i know a single song of hers outside of 'for your eyes only', and that's only because it was picked over a blondie song of the same name to be the theme song for that james bond movie.
