Subject: searching an old toy (maybe 80s)

Hello everyone!
Im searching the whole net in order to find some old toy 'soldiers'. I dont know
their names or if it was published by Bandai, Mattel or whatever.
I only know that these little robot-like monsters are about 2 or 3 inch tall, look like
animals on two legs (eagle, lion, shark, crab, mole). The special gimmick was this
little hole in the back of these monsters: if you peaked in it you saw through the
chest on a sign which was related to the animal, e.g. eagle-wind and mole-earth.
I hope someone recognizes the toy that im looking for! Please send me the name
of this line, the corporation which produced them or any other information which
could help me find them! THX!

Sounds sorta like "Battle Beasts"
have u tried those?
