Subject: Favorite Golden Girls Character

Are there any other Golden Girls fans out here besides me? I love watching reruns of it on Lifetime - it's kind of like visiting four surrogate grandmothers. It's hard for me to pick one - I like Sophia for the way she speaks her mind, and I envy the way Blanche can have just about any man she wants. But I think I'll go with Dorothy because she's the one I relate to the most.

1. Sophia
2. Blanche
3. Rose
4. Dorothy
I loved Sophia's spunkiness, Blanche's love of romance and sex, Rose's sweet naivete, and Dorothy's sarcasm. Basically, I adored them all. I still love the reruns. I would watch them on Saturdays. They were followed by Empty Nest.

Rose-she was so goofy. I can't believe I used to watch that show when I was like 10. My husband too!

I don't like the Golden Girls because the show brings back depressing memories of being unemployed in the early '90s. I'd watch Geraldo, and then the Golden Girls reruns. Talk about hitting bottom!

I love Sophia!! Her greatest line ever was when someone robbed the house and tied her up. When "The Girls" take the gag off her mouth and ask "who did this to you?" she replies "The Sandonistas - I knew too much". That cracks me up every time I see it. Hehe. ;D

My choice was Dorothy. The way she made those sarcastic cracks at Rose were hilarious ;D

That's Wilford Brimley and the Golden Girls were excellent :P

I stand corrected :) Perhaps as I age, I'll be able to appreciate the Golden Girls more than I did as a teenager.

I love the show and all the girls but would have to say Blanche is my favorite! I was going through a difficult phase in late 1984/early 1985 and couldn't get out much and I actually came to look foward to spending my Saturday nights watching the Golden Girls with my grandma! Watching them again now on Lifetime brings back a lot of memories and never fails to make me laugh!
