Subject: '80s Teen Romance Novels - Looking for one

I remember reading a teen romance novel around 1982 or 1983 and it was about
a girl from the mid west or something and she moved to Redondo Beach, California
and all the cool girls were beautiful, thin and snotty.
I can't remember the name of the series.
Any ideas?

Amazon has a book search. Maybe you can try there. I did but I don't know enough of the book for anything to come up.
