I wonder who's gonna say Cabbage Patch Dolls?  Again, never had one, lol! I wasn't as deprived as I sound, I just for some reason didn't ask my parents for things, my dh says I'm more than making up for it now, lol ;D

The line of action figures for "Return of the Jedi" was awesome!  I was a little long in the tooth for them when they came out, but I bought 'em anyway!

Rubix cube. No contest!

It is one of the '80s trademarks. It was very usefull for a brain exercise too.

...because it was very hard to make all the sides match, wasn't it?

Mind you, I came only once in my life 'til the very end. But liked it anyway.

One toy epitomised the excess of the decade, in its plasitc incarnation it symbolised the symbiotic union between capitalist greed, and youthful imagination.  Nothing before it or since has intrigued or inspired the three branches of society church, nobility and serf in such an egalitarian way.  I am of course talking of ......

The Snoopy Sno Cone Maker.

i remember the rubiks "clones". there was a pyramid, a ball, some wand type thing and once, this kid brought to school an x-rated version, the boobix cube...we all had a laugh, until the teacher took it.

~ GI Joes
~ M.U.S.C.L.E Men
~ Transformers
~ Star Wars Figures
~ Rubixcube

GI Joe's were the best, the war battles I made with those toys when I was a kid, wasn't just a battle, it was like the battle for the planet, used to go a real atmosphere with those toys, like it was World War 6

The GI Joe line was more posable with their jointed arms and legs.  Cool accessories too.

lol about the booby version, hee hee, I could just see kids clustering about a desk causing a stir.  I liked the version that was cylindrical and had 3 different plastic thingies that you slid, each side had 3 and there were like 5 or 6 colors and the white only had 2 on it's side so you could scramble it.  I was only able to unscramble this not the cube.  oh well, how many people out there tried cheating with changing the stickers, lol?

I want to add a best toy to the list...Simon by Milton Bradley. It was an electronic game that had a green, blue, red and yellow button that lit up and had sounds you pressed down on them and followed the pattern that the game set up for you.  It was good for strengthening the memory, I still have the one from my parents house!

I forgot one toy that was totally 80s, that I used to play with, and all other 80s childhoods,

Lego !!

They were so cool back in the day, you would spend hours on them building a whole city !

Damn I used to like them back in the day,

Other Toys I used to play with that were cool:

~ He-Man Masters Of The Universe
~ Ghostbuster Toys
~ Thundercats
~ Voltron
~ WWF Wrestlers ( I used to have the huge sized ones )
~ WWF Thumbwrestlers

Here is a list of other 80s toys I was thinking of for few mins:

Cabbage Patch Kids
Barbie
Care Bears
Holly Hobbie
Matchbox Cars
My Little Pony
Playmobil
Smurfs
Weeble Wobbles
The Secret Agent Danger Mouse
Dino Riderssss !
Ewok Village
Hungry Hungry Hippos
Battleship
Laser Tag
Micro Machines
My Pet Monster
Ninja Stuff
Nintendo (One Hell Of A Toy)
Rambo Action Figures

I played with Star Wars action figures, Weebles (because they wobbled but didn't fall down) and a Spirograph.
I collected Garbage Pail Kids cards (wish I still had them) and Matchbox cars.

2XL - (Robot that played 8-track trivia tapes)
Dolly Pops - Hard plastic dolls where you snap on their clothes
Glamour Gals - Kind of like mini-barbies
Tubtown - A little "town" with fisher-price like people that suctioned to the side of the bathtub
Baby-Feels-So-Real - Doll that was heavy like a real baby
Shrinky Dinks
Magic Pen books
Paper Dolls
Speak n Spell
Big Wheels
Rainbow Brite
Kerbangers

And one more I can't remember the name... it was a handheld toy with a metal "U" shape and it had a wheel and the point was to make the wheel go up and down the U shape without falling off

I still have a Rubik's Cube. I got so frustrated trying to figure that darn thing out. I finally broke down and ran an algorithmic equation on my computer to solve it. Ummm, is that cheating? ::)

I recently got a 80's Etch a sketch animator off Ebay.  I had lost mine, its pretty cool I gave it to my son but he's too little for it still.

Etch-a-Sketch was cool and so was space lego, my favourite in fact. What about those plastic snake like things, all made up of links? You could twist and turn it into all sorts of shapes; a cross, a cube, it kept me amused for hours. :)

Masters of The Universe is also another favorite of mine.

Obviously I'm going to have to go with She-Ra figures, being a collector of Masters of the Universe.

(Blame my mother, I wasn't allowed Barbie's because apparently they are not positive female role models, the only doll type things I was allowed were super-heroes!)
