Subject: PLEASE HELP me identify this 80's product...

Written By: lushesb on 10/01/04 at 11:50 am

We (myself and the ladies I work with) are trying to remember a particular brand of chewing gum or bubble gum from the 80's that had a liquid center, and was advertised to "squirt" when you chewed it...  We're all sort of going nuts  :D :o trying to remember the brand name of that gum.  If anyone knows, please help us out!  Thanks!

Was it "Freshen Up" gum by any chance?  That's the only one I could think of right now.

There's a Freshen Up Gum commercial on this page.  That jingle is unshakable.

I think there was also a gum that tasted like violet flavor and it had a purple covering. ???
I'm not so sure if that was 80's?

I believe you're thinking of Choward's scented gum. It's violet flavored. They also make violet flavored mints that I adore.

Did anyone ever chew that gum? I tasted it once and it was very nasty. :P

I like it. It has a distinctive flavor, and it's not too sweet. I would agree, though, that it's certainly not for everyone.

Didn't Dr. Pepper gum have a liquid-ish gel type center?
