Subject: FAVORITE JOHN HUGHES FILM POLL(PRETTY IN PINK,BREAKFAST CLUB)

Written By: sarahmarie on 10/15/04 at 11:06 pm

   8) My personal favorite is Pretty in Pink. I love that song in it that goes "I touch you once, I touch you twice, I won't let go go at any price.I need you now, like I need you then, you always said we'd meet again...."

"She's Having A Baby" is one of my favorite movies of all time.  Especially when they are rolling the credits and everyone is coming up with names for the new baby.

She's having a baby.  I love Kevin Bacon in that one.  I like the emotional part where she's in labor and having complications and "This woman's work" is playing in the background.  :)

Of the list mentioned, Pretty In Pink.  One not included on the list, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, would be my fave...

Breakfast Club followed by Weird Science

Tanya

My order of choice is reverse to yours. So, "Weird Science" followed by "Breakfast Club". "Pretty In Pink" is third in a row.

I like all of his movies.  One of my favorite all time movies is Planes Trains & Automobiles.  Breakfast Club is a very good one too.

"Those Aren't Pillows"
That line still makes me laugh.

I have a shameful confession to make, I am a 20 year old, die-hard 80s fan, and I just now saw Pretty in Pink. I had always wanted to see the movie but it seemed that I never caught it when it was on. So today I rented it and told myself I was finally going to watch it. I love 80s movies to a fault, and this, a basic requirement as far as 80s films are concerned, was missing from my repertoire.

I popped in the DVD and I have to say that it might be one of the best 80s films I have ever seen and certainly the mother of all teen movies. I loved it, and what was not to love? Molly Ringwald, Andrew McCarthy, James Spader, and whoever it was who played Duckie... an all-star cast, ftw.

Now I know I have a problem with 80s nostalgia (especially considering the fact that I was born in 85 and I remember hardly anything complared to many of you), but man that movie was both beautiful and frightening. Beautiful because as I said before, best teen film ever and a cast of good actors. Frightening because I'm afraid that I enjoyed looking at Andrew McCarthy perhaps just a little too much.

Since Uncle Buck was not in the poll, I voted for 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles'.  Both are excellent, classic movies  8)
