Subject: Creepiest '80's Music Video

What music video(s) creeped you out?

The only video I can think of is Wham! "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" for the overuse of Day Glo.

Now this is only my opinion...

Herbie Hancock - "Rock It"  (Good song/I hated all the robotics)

Falco - "Der Kommisar" (All that running made me dizzy)

Funny, I find that Genesis video hilarious (I have it on a compilation DVD somewhere)... although, I must admit, the Phil Collins puppet is a bit... excessive  :o

I still think some of Peter Gabriel's videos are pretty freaky, most notably "Big Time" out of sheer bizarrness... the same pretty much goes for "I Can't Wait" by Nu Shooz.  Otherwise, anything which features Rod Stewart is automatically a channel-change for me (GOD I hate that man  >:()!  (Apologies to any devout Rod fans... it's just my opinion)

Mickey, her eyes were strange and the other cheerleaders looked like they were hired to play cheerleaders, not the real thing.

My pick for creppiest videos are:

Don't Come Around Here No More by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers
Pressure by Billy Joel
Thriller
Wild Boys - Duran Duran

"Burning Down The House" by Talking Heads, especially when you see David Byrne's face sliding down the road or on the side of the house. That used to freak me out :D Also, when I was a kid, for some reason the video for "Bette Davis Eyes" by Kim Carnes seemed kind of freaky. :)

I also would add Cher "If I Turn Back Time" for the outfit & her son being near by.  :P

A creepy, but great video I would like to mention is Metallica "One".  8)

Don't Come Around Here Nomore by Tom Petty & the HEartbreakers (where they're eating the cake)

Land of Confusion by Genesis

All of these certainly qualify!! My vote for the most creepy above all others is Don't Come Around Here No More. However, I think the entire video is creepy and it permanently destroyed my tolerance for checkerboard patterns. Now, I still totally hate them. :P

The puppets in Land of Confusion were just too much in the ugly/freaky department, but the video was cool overall as far as concept.

I don't know about all that, but I recall the one cheerleader chick who seemed to be like 7 feet tall! :o Yeah, Tony's eyes were a little bugged-out for my taste as well.

Yes, 'Don't come around here no more','Rockit','Total eclipse of the heart' and 'Somebody's watching me' are all quite wierd (Somebody's watching me is the most nauseating).

I must add this one. 'Drowning in Berlin' by The Mobiles. A freaky song with a freaky group - especially the man with the heart on his cheek.

Just to add: If not mentioned before, 'Land of confusion' by Genesis was using the Spitting Image puppets (a regular funny topical satirical show using these puppets). The effect was meant to be a humorous one rather than a freaky one. I can understand why it would be to the uninformed.

Nevermind the uninformed. A fact is a fact. Those puppets were truly freaky-lookin' and oh, so uhhh-gly. :P

Not that it matters in the very least, but I was one of the informed. ;)

I think Thriller by far is the most creepiest video.you have the transformation from human to warewolf, the transformation from human to green monster and the gravesites which is scary and the zombies pop up from the gravestones. :P
