IMO, Heathcliff was much funnier than Garfield. :D Though I can't stand the lasagna eating cat. :P

Heathcliff. The only times I liked Garfield was on "A Garfield Christmas" and Garfield and Friends (honestly, I liked the friends).

Really neither. Both played the straight roles while the more comedic roles were played by the others.

They were both okay. I loved the Garfield specials and I liked the gang that was in Heathcliff... it was a seperate cartoon wasn't it but shown as part of the show?

Are we talking about the tv cartoons or comic strip cartoons? If it's comic strips, then there is only one winner - Garfield hands down.
I didn't think Heathcliff ever had a comic strip?

I had to vote for the fat, orange tabby... Garfield!!! It was my favorite comic strip as a kid and I used to have quite a few of the book collections! :)

I bottled out and went for both. Heathcliff has a great cocky attitude but irritating laugh and Garfield was so laconic with his wit yet rather sluggish.

No, no figures, but I seem to recall a video where Heathcliff and Riffraff actually met and fought, over who led the "Junkyard Jokers". They were closely matched, and in the end, stayed begrudging equals.
