Subject: There's a new song out about a mom thats stuck in 1985

I don't know the name of the band... you'll have to ask your kids.  The song mentions a lot of 80s bands!
Let me know if you've heard it!

Bowling For Soup "1985"  :D

And the video featured Joey House, actress from 'Diary of a Sex Addict", doing  an impersonation of Tawney Kitaen. Though those Whitesnake videos ("Here I Go Again", "Is This Love", "Still of the Night") were from 1987.  8)

Thanks Woops,

I found the lyrics

"1985"

Woohoohoo
Woohoohoo

Debbie just hit the wall
She never had it all
One Prozac a day
Husbands a CPA
Her dreams went out the door
When she turned twenty four
Only been with one man
What happen to her plan?

She was gonna be an actress
She was gonna be a star
She was gonna shake her ass
On the hood of white snake’s car
Her yellow SUV is now the enemy
Looks at her average life
And nothing has been alright since

Bruce Springsteen, Madonna
Way before Nirvana
There was U2 and Blondie
And music still on MTV
Her two kids in high school
They tell her that she’s uncool
Cuz she's still preoccupied
With 19, 19, 1985

Woohoohoo
(1985)
Woohoohoo

She’s seen all the classics
She knows every line
Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink
Even Saint Elmo’s Fire
She rocked out to wham
Not a big Limp Bizkit fan
Thought she’d get a hand
On a member of Duran Duran

Where’s the mini-skirt made of snake skin
And who’s the other guy that's singing in Van Halen
When did reality become T.V.
What ever happen to sitcoms, game shows
(on the radio was)

Bruce Springsteen, Madonna
Way before Nirvana
There was U2 and Blondie
And music still on MTV
Her two kids in high school
They tell her that she’s uncool
Cuz she's still preoccupied
With 19, 19, 1985

Woohoohoo

She hates time make it stop
When did Motley Crew become classic rock?
And when did Ozzy become an actor?
Please make this stop
Stop!
And bring back

Bruce Springsteen, Madonna
Way before Nirvana
There was U2 and Blondie
And music still on MTV
Her two kids in high school
They tell her that she’s uncool

Your welcomed  :)

There's an old thread, bumped, on the 2000's forum, with comments about that song.

Ironically, my favorite music video of this year.  :D

You know what I'm glad I was just a 10 year old kid in 1985.  I love the 80s, but I don't think I would have liked it if I was born somewhere in the 1963-1971 time frame and been a real teenager or young adult back then.  Being 29 now and born in '75 was and is just perfect.

I believe most people wouldn't change the era they grew up in, because a persons greatest years, greatest
memory's, first loves, best friends, craziest party's all happened in the high school and young adult years.
Fortunately I was in high school 1980-1984 and I spent the rest of the 80s the way most young adults do, in
bars chasing girls. The 80s was also the era of Americas greatest President Ronald Reagan, but then
unfortunately the 90s came and America got it's most embarrassing President Bill Clinton... but not to worry
because the 2nd greatest American President is happening right under our noses, George W. Bush

AMEN, BROTHER!

I hated Bill/Hilary Clinton (still don't know which one was president, don't really care!). I loved President Reagan, cried when he passed away, but I went to view him in the Capitol. As for President Bush, I declared the day he was inaugurated that he was a president I would support like no other, and I think all thru the campaign I was true to my word. I even got to see him at a Republican rally. Election night was nerve-wracking, but I never lost hope. Born in '74, so if you wanna share more 80's memories, drop me a line!

Your Pal,
Doc
