Subject: A-Team movie

Written By: PhilsHawks on 01/05/05 at 4:34 pm

I thought I heard that an A-Team movie was in the works.  Has it gone anywhere?  The rumor I had heard was that Tommy Lee Jones was most likely to be cast as Hannibal (though I thought Jack Nicholson would be great in the role).  Jim Carey would obviously be the ideal person to play Murdock.  Any young stud could probably be Face.  However, B.A. is a challenge.  Mr. T was that role and it would be hard to see anyone else in it.

I don't think they'll ever make this movie, we've been hearing about the "upcoming" A-Team movie since 1996 and it still has not been made.  Plus the casting suggestions get pretty ridiculous, people want an A-list cast for every role.  I just don't think a movie budget could sustain Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, Jim Carrey, Brad Pitt, Ving Rhames, Michael Duncan Clark, etc, etc.

I think if they ever do make a movie (at this rate probably in 2083 for the 100th anniversary of A-Team), then a continuation set in the same universe of the original characters would work best.  Just have a different group of elite commandos in 2005, but set in that same whacky universe of the original TV show.  We could always reference the original characters for fun and continuity purposes, and it avoids the Mr. T/B.A. Baracus problem.

The only person that could play B.A.Baracus is Mr.T himself. It would be impossible to find other actors that portrayed the actors on the TV Show. But,never say never.

Shall we play The Casting Game? :)

Hannibal: Gene Hackman (c'mon, he was fun in Enemy Of The State) or Ed Harris
BA: Samuel L Jackson or Lawrence Fishburne
Face: Orlando Bloom or Jude Law
Murdock: Jim Carrey or Jeff Goldblum or Will Smith

Decker (Hannbal's surly nemesis): Tommy Lee Jones or Dennis Hopper

Ya know, I like that people show interest in the old shows, but all these movies coming out and casting new actors is ridiculous!!

They were good b/c of those actors, and should be left alone

Miami VIce, Dukes of Hazzard (the replacement of the orig. actors was already attempted and failed!), and the A-Team. Leave them alone and left in good standing.

If they ever made a big-screen version of Full House, I have some casting ideas for that one:

Danny - Ben Stiller (looks somewhat like Bob Saget)
Joey - Will Ferrell or Owen Wilson
Uncle Jesse - Vince Vaughn
Becky - Jennifer Garner
Kimmy - Lindsay Lohan
DJ and Stephanie - Hilary Duff and her sister Hailie (although I hear Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan can't stand each other, don't know if that's really true or not)
they can hire a new set of twins to play Michelle and the Olson Twins could make a cameo as babysitters or something like that

I doubt if Samuel Jackson or Lawrence Fishburne could pull off a mean Mr.T. ::)

Mr.T should play himself. ;D

I think Mr. T should be in it, but play someone like B.A. Baracus' father or uncle.
