This is a seldom explored topic here, despite the 80s being so known for it. How would one exactly define a Val?
I mean they have their "language", love the mall, and are normally pretty, preppy blondes, but do/did they have other characterisics? Also, when did they cease to exist as a clique? I mean "Clueless" came out in 1995 and is really just a 90s spin on Valley Girls. But of course the 1980s Val slang would not be spoken then or anytime after 1987 or so.

they were vapid, shallow and materialistic. all the things that made the 80s insufferable, at least to people like me.
