Since U2 racked up 18 votes and Depeche Mode only had 9 (or something)...

One band I can think of that was, and still is, widely popular ...though may not be selling as much albums tham "Slippery When Wet" but had a comeback in 2000 with got a hit in a time with "It's My Life"... Bon Jovi  8)



Since I like and respect both bands, I still select U2.

Bon Jovi just sucks... Glitzy, glamour, poppy crap. U2, although they have begun to suck of late, were an amazing band. Such meaningful music (up until now). I like "In God's Country" a lot.

Tough choice - but I went with Bon Jovi, have to be true to my Jersey roots!

Well, the first 5 written votes from different members would break the tie breaker

I hear you guys screaming about how "U2 sucks now".  I have been a U2 fan since they were an obscure band played on MTV only late at night.  Loved them then - love them now!  "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb" is an excellent album!  I would say that it's their best work since "Joshua Tree."  You people need to let go of the past and stop expecting your favorite bands to freeze in time.  True artists grow and evolve.  U2 is a great example of that.  They have stood the test of time where only few others have.  Here's to another 25 years!  8)

i really like both and enjoyed both back in the day but Bon Jovi had a bigger impact on me in the 80s  :)

I'd have to go with U2 and it kills me to say that because their politics suck!  You can't take Bon Jovi seriously though, they were on the verge of being a corny 80's hair band.  Although they some good songs.

Sorry, not buying it. "Vertigo" makes me want to stab myself in the ears. How many "yeah yeah yeahs" can someone hear before they lose it? That song is a far, vapid cry from their older work. That's just that... if they "grew," good for them... But if I hear that song once more... omg I just don't know what I'm going to do. Probably change the frequency. This was kind of a tough choice, but I picked Bon Jovi - IMO, Jon Bon Jovi is much sexier than Bono.  8)

For me, it's U2, absolutely no contest! Bon Jovi may have been on my wall as a teenager, but Bono could outsing JBJ any day of the week -just my opinion! Nice choice of lyric, BTW, Class ;) I am a Culture Club fanatic and I am pretty sure that "Karma" was released in '83.
