Subject: cool club songs from 1987-1990

My high school used to have the coolest sock-hops...well, actually the sock-hops were pretty damaging to my teenage psyche...but the music was the BEST! I would love to download some of the songs. but I don't know the titles or artists (aside from the obligatory New Order and horrid pop/dance songs ala Milli Vanilli). They would not be too obscure because I'm talking about a high school in East Texas. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. :)
Think "Egyptian Lover" or "White Lines" - there were so many and now I can' t think of one. It must be age. Also there was an after-hours club called "Ferrari's" - very lame but lucky to have it. The DJ was really good - he played NIN, the Bolshoi, Joy Division, Front 242 but there were others...
