Subject: Best Sheena Easton Single of The 80's

Written By: Dave Brown on 03/03/05 at 3:41 pm

Has to be Either "The Lover In Me", "Days Like This", "101", "Sugar Walls" (which wasn't released in the US) and "9-5" (called ("Morning Train) 9-5 in the US)

Sugar Walls was released in America. It was banned or edited on some radio stations, but it was definitely here. It gets my vote. I also loved "The Lover In Me", "Almost Over You", and "Strut".

Not a problem at all. I loved that song. I had to play it low when my parents were in the house, though!

Hey, what about "Follow My Rainbow", which she sang in her final appearance on MIAMI VICE?
Out of these, I had to go with "Strut", but I did like "Morning Train" and "The Lover In Me".

I voted for Stut followed by Modern Girl and For Your Eyes Only. She also did a really nice one called When he shines.

My vote goes to "Morning Train (9-5)"; at first I couldn't find it on the list because you had listed it as "9-5".

I like that one and "For Your Eyes Only" (which I'm suprised isn't listed)

I love Strut, what can I say - I still go around with my sweatband on my head singing this song into my hairbrush - with 2 backup singers now :o :o :o :o

(Sorry Sheena, because you really were talented, but when someone sets up a line like this...)

"Strut."

Not just because it was a really catchy tune, but because the video supplied the answer of "do you want to admire her for her rack or her buns"?  The answer was "rack", because it was the easiest way to guarantee "duh, you want to admire both!".  You stare at her rack, make it real obvious, and then, if she was true to her word, you also got to ogle her buns while she walked out the door.  And the video delivered on the promise!

(What, why is everyone looking at me like that?  Was that wrong?  Should I not have typed that?)

Other:  'So Far So Good'

It wasn't a BIG hit, but it's from the 1986 movie 'About ... Last Night' which I believe is the first film in which Demi Moore does a nude scene

Strut is my favorite, along with Telephone (Long Distance Love Affair) and The Lover In Me. I also like What Comes Naturally, but that came out in 1991.

Strut gets my vote.

I have to tell you, though, the strangest thing I've ever heard is For Your Eyes Only sung by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Don't ever recall her breaking into song...

Mostly her forte was exhibiting various vegetables that looked like (ahem!) genitalia!
