I always loved Neil Diamond...my dad used to play the Jazz Singer all the time and we would sing all around the house to it...now I can honestly say that Neil Diamond is very prevelant in my CD collection!

I voted for Love on the Rocks, America, and Hello Again. I abolutely LOVE the Jazz Singer and ALL the songs from it. There was a song from the movie that is not on your poll, called, Summer Love. I think I would have replaced Love on the Rocks with Summer Love if I had the option.

I voted 'other' just for the E.T. song "Heartlight."
It's pretty much the only thing of his I know well - pretty ballad with a bit of an 80's pop influence. Great song! However, I recently heard he did an album in 1986 called Headed for the Future, so I listened to some soundclips and, let me say, alot of the songs sounded really cool (he can handle the rockers as well as ballads). :)
By all accounts, it crash and burned - was he considered too "old fasioned" by this time, I wonder?

I am a big Jazz Singer fan too Cat. Yes Summer Love is a sweet song. Hello Again makes me cry - when he is on the beach with her - sniff :(
I love Neil full stop. I was raised on his music thru the 70s and in 1992 I surprised my mum with flights to Sydney and concert tickets to his big "return to Oz" gigs.  Since then we have seen him twice more. I have every single album he has ever released (cept the new one 12 Songs - hoping to get it for xmas from dad !!!!!).
One of my other faves was Heartlight - his little tribute to ET.
Turn on your heartlight, let it shine wherever you go...................  so sweet !!

"Headed for the Future" was yet another really big adult-contemporary hit that didn't make a big dent in the main pop chart, going to #53 there. I thought it was pretty neat and that it was great that Neil's music was updating like that.

U know... I love Neil... I saw him live and I have no trouble saying, hes one of the best people I ever saw live... It was 10yrs ago, I went with a friend and it was funny since all the people around us looked our parents age but when he sang " America", man oh man, it was awesome! :)
