Definately a chick flick, but it is a great movie.  I cried like a baby, too.  It was years before I could hear Wind Beneath My Wings without tearing up.

Oh man, you and me both. I STILL can't hear that song without bawling like a baby. And of course watching the movie-let's just say that I need a box tissues next to me.  ;)

Chick flick all the way!  But its a great chick flick and Ive seen it and cried.  The costumes Bette wore in that movie were amazing!  I like watching that movie just for those fashions!   Another chick flick I like is How to Make an American Quilt, I think I was the only guy in the theatre when that came out.  But...it had WINONA in it, and I watch anything that she is in!

I think it is a chick flick AND an inspiring story -inspiring for those who were not born with a silver spoon or model looks.

Yes, Bette Midler plays an aspiring actress/singer/diva named CC Bloome, who is struggling to make it and her friendship with Hillary Whitney (Barbara Hershey), a beautiful, spoilt, rich  princess, who seems to have everything.
