When I saw a special on the making of "Sledgehammer" and all the time it took...all the effort Peter went through...as far as creativity goes, Sledgehammer gets my vote, though Take On Me was a great song and video :)

Well, I'm a girl and I vote for "Sledgehammer" -very creative! Loved those dancing chickens! Of course, my old man thought it was evil! ::) ;D

"Sledgehammer" won the most Video Music Awards, including Video of the Year, in 1987. 8)

Peter Gabriel irks me... though I love Genesis. Plus there was rivalry between him and Phil Collins... and Phil's cool.

How about against Dire Straits' "Money For Nothing"
Though looks VERY DATED by today's standards, still a fun video to watch. 8) :D

This was hard. I like the plot, mood, melody and words of "Take On Me" better -- but I still believe in terms of production of a video, "Sledgehammer" is the better.

Better production/bigger budget doesn't necessarily make a video superior. Look at the new Star Wars movies... no way as interesting as the originals.
