Subject: name for toy???

i am trying to recall the name of a toy. this toy was similiar to a cotton ball. it had eyes, antennas, and feet, which could be peeled back to become a sticker. sometimes the cotton ball sticker animal would have a tag or small banner attatched to him. please help me, im feel like im going crazy trying to remember. 83-84 is when i have the strongest memories of these.  thanks for any ideas or answers

I think i know what you are referring too- and i think they might be called Weeples

They were just known as bugs in th UK.
You can still get them in museums and such. Usually with a lame comment like "I've got the bug for ...."
