Subject: Game Shows - Jackpot / Chain Reaction

Anyone remember the game shows 'Jackpot' and 'Chain Reaction'?
'Jackpot' was originally short-lived in the 1974-1975 season and 'Chain Reaction' was short-lived in the 1980-1981 season
I pieced both these shows in one thread cause they shared something in common: Both shows were revived in the mid 80s, filmed in Canada, and broadcast in the States via the USA Network
Jackpot

A panel of 15 numbered contestants sat in a match game style booth while one contestant stood on a platform. The object was to pick a contestant from the panel who would stand up and read a riddle. A correct answer, won the contestant on the podium cash in the jackpot, and a chance to continue. A wrong guess, and the contestants would switch places. At any time, if the contestant picked stood up and yelled Jackpot!, and the contestant on the poduim correctly solved the riddle, both contestants would split the jackpot

Chain Reaction

Two contestants competed to solve a chain of words. The object was to fill in a bunch of words each one somehow related to the one above and below it. The first and last words were given, and each contestant had the option of giving or taking a letter in any of the words above or below an already revealed word within the chain

I remember Jackpot - I used to watch that one when I was in high school, I think. I don't remember Chain Reaction, but from your description of it, it sort of reminds me of my fave game show, The $25,000 Pyramid. :)
Do you remember a show called Break the Bank? It aired from 1985-86 and was hosted by Gene Rayburn first, then Joe Ferago took over midway through the season.

I do vaguely remember Break the Bank. I never really watched it, cause I remember it came on at the same time as another show that I loved :)

I thought I'd bump this thread cause I just found videos of both shows via YouTube. I haven't seen either of these shows since they went off the air in the early 90s. What a blast from the past! :)
