Subject: Searching for song "Everything is going alright tonight"

Written By: Pinkypink on 09/22/05 at 7:52 pm

Hi,

I tried google but no sucess.

It's an upbeat song sung by a male.  Sound phrases I remember sound like "sharpest suit, "I hear the violin" but the main chorus sounds like "everything is going alright tonight" or some variation.  Help!

Is it "Love is Alright Tonight" from Rick Springfield? That's the first one that popped in my head.

the lyric "sharpest suit" is the giveaway.  It's the 1987 hit 'When Smokey Sings' by ABC :)

Yes! It's "When Smokey Sings!"  Thanks so much!  No wonder I could never google it.  I always heard the lyrics wrong or never got enough of them.  The tune has always been in my mind.

Glad I could be of help :)  Here's a little tidbit about the song.  It's a tribute to Smokey Robinson  8)
