Subject: Christmas Movies from the 80's

Written By: wsmith4 on 10/27/05 at 12:10 pm

I'm trying to build a collection of Christmas movies from the 80's that I used to watch as a child.

Here is what I have so far:

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Christmas Eve on Sesame Street
Smoky Mountain Christmas
One Magic Christmas (amazing movie!!)
Santa Claus, The Movie
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

Any other suggestions??

Thanks!  :)

No 'Miracle of 34th Street'?

Home Alone was set around Christmas time I seem to recall.

They're both 90's films.

Ahem

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0039628/

And I'm sure there was a more recent version than the 90's one.

That would be "Silent Night, Deadly Night".

Another movie with Santa Claus as a killer was "To All A Goodnight". From what I remember not that bad of movie.

"Trains, Planes, and Automobiles"

Even though this was not technically a "Christmas" movie, it still had the holiday feeling to it.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is a very funny movie!  ;D

Del... Why did you kiss my ear?
Why are you holding my hand?
Where's your other hand?
Between two pillows...
Those aren't pillows!

;D

Gremlins revolved around Christmas. I loved when the Mom blew the Gremlin up in the microwave, and killed another in the stand mixer while baking cookies.....lol. ;D

Yeah, I loved that scene, and even the aftermath when they both got up and started trying to bring back their masculine side by talking about sports and such, lol.

The He-man & She-ra Christmas movie LOL ;D. No seriously i enjoyed it very much as a kid.
Skeletor actually cracks a smile at the end when he is overwelmed by the spirit of Christmas, which looks really goofy because it doesn't look like his actual smile with the jaw, it looks more like a goofy jackolantern smile that looks like something a little kid drew over the top of his real mouth LOL. One of the funniest things i've seen recently while reliving old childhood TV shows & cartoons, i almost wet myself. ;D

I remember on the Disney Channel they'd air that 1965 version of Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Cinderella" starring Leslie Ann Warren. I use to absolutely LOVE watching that on Christmas day every year. My brother use to want to puke because it was so saccharin. I still have a fondness for it and I swear I haven't seen it since at least 1991 or 1992. I think I need to buy it or rent it, just for old times sake  :)
