I had no idea 'Hang on to Your Love' would be so popular. It was quite popular here in Canada, but in America, it only reached #102 on the Billboard Charts

I don't think she got any videos played on MTV, she may have been on VH1 only. Maybe that's why.

Yeah, she has. "Smooth Operator" and "Sweetest Taboo" received airplay.
I voted for Never As Good As the First Time with Is It a Crime and Hang On to Your Love following.
