Subject: Marble like game played in grade school?

I remeber in the early 80's when I was in grade school just outside of Seattle Wa, there was a game being played by alot of kids that was a lot like playing marbles but the peices were much larger. I can't remember what they wee called but they were a little bigger than a golf ball and were different colors. I believe they were transparent. I remember kids would have a collection of these and the game envolved hittings each others pieces like marbles and the winner would get to keep them. Does this ring a bell for anyone? I'm trying to figure out what is was all about. Any help would be appreciated...
