He had some good songs in the 80s,but I couldn't understand though his Trans album. Falls under the category of 'What were they thinking' or 'Rock and Roll's biggest 'Oops'. Why change the formula when rock and folk has worked so well for you? The whole new age techno sound with the voice synthesizer wasn't him at all, I'm sorry.

Neil Young had some great songs in the 80's, the best of which I thought was 1983's Wonderin' as Neil Young and the Shocking Pinks :)
I also really liked his 1988 hit American Dream which he did with Crosby, Stills and Nash. That whistling chorus was great 8)
