Subject: Lene Lovich

One word comes to mind when I think of her 'Bizarre!' I'm not an avid fan, I only know a few her songs. 'It's you, only you' was a catchy tune, I also recall 'New Toy' and 'Lucky Number' was a one that was okay. Anyone else ever into her music?

I remember her being different from the others around at the time.

I always thought it was Lana Lovich-if that is the one I am thinking of. As song that comes to mind goes:

Home is where the heart is
Home is so remote
Home is such emotion
Sticking in my throat.

Let's go to your place.

Please tell me if that is the same person you are talking about.

Thanks. I know I could have done the search but I was too lazy.

Lene Lovish was born in Detroit, MI (yes she's American).  Her father was Yugoslavian and her Mom was American.  From what I remember reading after her parents deivorced her and her Mom went to England.
I've been a fan of hers for a number of years, and her Stateless album is one of my faves.
A bit of trivia: Thomas Dolby was a member of her backing band.

Yes, I've heard they had some kind of connection. You know, I thought they were married at one point.

Actually, he wrote a song for her and he once performed it with her at one of his concerts. I downloaded the MP3, but I got it from BearShare and the song sounds really good with the both of them performing it together!  ;D

I only know her song 'New Toy' which was written by Dolby.  I never really cared for it.

Hmmm  ::) * There's something in the air beside the atmosphere * ;)

Lene Lovich scored three times in Dutch charts back in 1979:

Lucky Number was her biggest hit, reaching #3; it was charted for 8 weeks;
Say When reached #19 and was charted for 6 weeks; and
Bird Song was charted for 4 weeks, reaching only to #30.

I like Lucky Number best. :)
