Subject: The Bangles

Written By: velvetoneo on 02/24/06 at 8:28 pm

I think they're probably the best pop group of the '80s...I've firmly decided it's true that most of the music I like is '80s. My favorite is "Eternal Flame"...what's yours? Any other thoughts on the Bangles?

"Hero Takes a Fall" is one of my favorites, but their remake of "Hazy Shade of Winter" is pretty cool too. Of course, they had so many god songs... hard to choose

"Walk Like An Egyptian" was their best... I'd never heard anything quite like that before. Loved Manic Monday. "Eternal Flame" was fantastic at the time but it gets a bit over-played, especially the cover version by UK girl group Atomic Kitten.

I like Hazy Shade of Winter, even if it is a cover.

I prefer Manic Monday,  Walking down your Street, and  The Hero Takes a Fall video was my first introduction to the group.

Although a bit overplayed, "Walk Like an Egyptian".

I'm so upset, I lose my Bangles greatest hits CD :( I cannot find it anywhere and it's doing my head in!

If I had it right now, I'd put on 'If She Knew What She Wants' first, then 'Hazy Shade of Winter'. I adore 'Eternal Falme' yet its a little overplayed I think.
