Ok at my school a little private school we have sadie hawkins (though we don't dance... we eat.. perks of private school)
but the thing is to go matching with your date. Like either in identical clothing, theme, or famous couple. My boyfriend and I want to go as 80's kids.

I kinda have what I need to wear the outfit is planned as:
Hair in side ponytail
big chunky jewlery
Neon color hightop converse
leg warmers
and a shirt I have that says "I am so0o 80's"

with that all I need is some sort of jacket and skirt. any ideas?

my boyfriend well all we know is that I have a mullet wig for him to borrow and high top converse.... what else?

wow sorry this is so0o long but thanks for your help! it is much appricated!

Lots of Aqua-Net hairspray, to get the "Big Hair" look.
Pastel colored clothes.  Pink and Light Blue were big in the 80's.
Lots of makeup, the "Tammy Faye Baker" look
Headband
Waist chains
Lots of Bangles

Well, the 80's were rather unique, because there were so many different looks.  You got the Preppies, Punks, Surfers, Valley Girls, and Country.  Then there were other looks, like Flashdance, Urban Waif, Jock, and then all the regional ones.

If you want a good idea how we talked, dressed, danced, and acted back then, I can suggest a few movies:

Footloose
The Breakfast Club
Valley Girl
Fast Times At Ridgemont High (actually filmed at Van Nuys Sr. High, the home of the "Valley Girl")
Can't Buy Me Love

I graduated from Van Nuys High in 1983, so I lived in the heart of "Valley Girl USA".  It was a unique way of life, and we even had our own language and way of talking.  You can also see if you can catch some old episodes of shows like "21 Jump Street".
