Anyone ever heard of Shooting Star before?
They were an 80's rock band from Kansas City who although never broke the top 40, still had a popular following. They released their self-titled debut in 1979, and from then on released 4 more albums and charted two hits on Billboard with You've Got What I Need (US #76, 1980) and Hollywood (US #70, 1982) before calling it quits in 1986.
In 1989, a greatest hits album was issued and featured a new song called Touch Me Tonight. It peaked at #67 on Billboard, becoming the band's biggest hit ever.
Arguably though their finest effort lies within the songs Take It and Get Ready Boy which appeared in the 1984 film "Up the Creek". The songs themselves were not hits, but the film remains a popular favourite
