There are great! Thanks for the links.  Has any cable station ever done "oldies video" like radio stations do oldies radio?

HALL & 0ATES: MANEATER
I remember this video, and the 'orrible lip syncing. Doesn't the guy in the cap look like Tom Waits?
Jaguar motif: you see the jaguar cat in the video, a reference to the lyric
"She-cat tamed by the purr of jag-u-ar," which to me always sounded like,
"She can turn by the pub and j**k you *ff"

DURAN DURAN: SAVE A PRAYER
Hey, is this "Save A Prayer" or "Save The Children," and where is Sally Struthers? Those were some of the first black people ever featured on MTV! Mock-playing of pan pipes in the fopening sequence!
;D
I always remembered Simon LeBon reclining on that sofa, but I forgot about those glorious sky shots. Bet Peter Jackson loved those!  As for attire, too much white, too Miami Vice. This video was definitely going for a "Raiders of the Lost Ark" motif!

PETE SHELLEY: HOMOSAPIEN
Great song. The video, not so great! He looks like Tattoo from "Fantasy Island" in that cheesy white suit. What's that a Commodore 64? Then there's the white set (what's all this white again?), the director must have just watched "THX1138."

PETER SCHILLING: MAJOR TOM (COMING HOME)
WTF? Is it "The Right Stuff" meets "Repo Man," or "2001: A Space Odyssey" meets "American Graffitti"?
Can somebody find the video for Planet P, "Why Me"? (not to be confused with Irene Cara, "Why Me") Those songs are good bookends!

A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS: WISHING (IF I HAD A PHOTOGRAPH OF YOU)
The apex of AFOS. The video is entirely a reference to "Alien," but maybe a bit prescient of "Weird Science," eh? Paul Reynolds' welding sequence in the beginning is also a bit "Flashdance."
Somebody once postulated "Wishing" is an adolescent nerd's autoeroticism song, and I agree. I know, I was one at the time!
Notice Ali Score is beating on dummy drums once again, as in the "I Ran" video. Mike Score's hair-do never looked better, but unfortunately, this copy of the video is a little too dark to do it justice!

A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS: I RAN
They're in drag, you know. Those are women's pants suits from Macy's, maybe Bloomingdales. As Mike Score recalls, "They said 'you're making a video today,' so we went out and bought women's clothes..."
That set is about as cheap as you can get. Mirrors and aluminum foil! Those models are creepy...there's someing "Blade Runner" about them (Ridley Scott again!). Of course, you've got Ali Score with the dummy drums. No, those are not Simmons electronic drums. That's a practice  drum kit! Notice Mike Score has not yet adopted the "seagull" hair-do, but perhaps it's evolving there! I love that little Roland keyboard.

Yeah, VH1 Classic shows nothing but videos and occasional concerts from the 60s through the early 90s.

I will give my right foot to get a hold of any vids by The Tubes.

I am without a doubt, possibly the biggest Tubes fanatic out there.
Believe it or no, 6 out of 7 Tubes (including lead vocalist Fee Waybill) have stated that they want me to be on their next LP. (I do have proof, friends.)

However, I cannot find those damn videos!!!!!!!!

I couldn't milk any copies out of the band. :P
