Subject: Best 80's year for movies

Written By: batfan2005 on 04/21/06 at 7:07 pm

What would you say are the best year of the 80's for movies? I would say 1989 (Batman, Ghostbusters II, Indiana Jones III, Lethal Weapon 2, the Abyss, Uncle Buck, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Back to the Future II, and many more).

I would probably have to agree with 1989

Here is the entire list of movies that were released in 1989

I think it's a toss up between 1984 and 1986.

The 80s were a fantastic decade for popcorn fantasy and action movies (Empire Strikes Back, E.T., Terminator, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Indiana Joes, etc, etc), but it was a terrible decade for more dramatic or artsy films.  The 70s and 90s had better dramatic films.

There's no doubt the action/adventure took off in the 80s, but I would say 1986 and 1987 was two great years for movies. :D

I can recall a few 1986 films my top favorites

Top Gun
Aliens
Ferris Bueller's Day Off

1987

MoonStruck
Predator
RoboCop
