Also got Faith No More and RHCP mixed up

I even thought "Only In My Dreams" was a Madonna song  ::)

Someone I knew once tried to tell me Tears For Fears did "She's A Beauty".
He wouldn't believe me that The Tubes did it, even when I showed him the album cover for it.

M (Robin Scott) and Thomas Dolby.  I know several people who swore that M did She Blinded Me With Science, and Thomas Dolby did Pop Muzik.

You've hit the nail on the head with that one.  Simon Climie is a dead ringer for Rod Stewart when he sings.  When "Love Changes (Everything)" came out, I thought it was Rod Stewart

I understand completely. I had the same trouble with convincing my oldest nephew that Arnold Schwarzennegger was NOT the ape at the local zoo.

While scribbling down the Top 40 songs from the Billboard Hot 100 chart at the record store, I heard 2 teens fretting over not finding Bruce Springsteen's new song "You Can't Start a Fire".  I let them suffer for about 5 minutes, then I looked up and said "I think it's called 'Dancing in the Dark.'"  They said, "Thank you,"  but I think they felt humiliated at being helped by a 7 year old.

I also remember seeing a young lady with several missing teeth at the record store showing Wham's "Make It Big" album to a friend and calling the band "The Jitterbugs".

I once got in an argument, at age 8, with a friend at summer camp over the title of Elton John's "Sad Songs (Say so Much)".  He kept screaming at me that the song was called "Turn Em On".  He also insisted that the red bandana I had tied around my neck was actually pink.
I got back at him by saying "Stetson doesn't fit."

Does anyone remember Elton John's "Sasson" jeans commercial?  I used to think the name of the company was "Sassoon", and also owned by Vidal Sassoon.

"How Bizzarre" by OMD. A DJ in Marysville said the group was Stakka Bo.

-I called him up, & corrected him, which resulted in his cursing me out on-air, then having to publicly apologize both for his error, and his behavior toward me.
His name was Rex McNeill. I think he got fired.
