Right now I'm in love with the song "Weird Science". Is there a more '80s song?  :D

Oingo Boingo had a lot of well-known songs (including the one you just mentioned):

Dead Man's Party
Just Another Day
Little Girls
Only A Lad
We Close Our Eyes
...and my personal fave, "Stay" 8)

Danny Elfman is my hero.

Yup...he went on to compose music for certain movies, like "Beetlejuice" (which had an animated TV spinoff series in the early 90's), "Nightmare Before Christmas" and such. He's also responsible for the "Simpsons" theme. O0

I only like "Dead Man's Party" and "Weird Science"

I am disappointed that Dead Man's Party was not a chart hit.  It is a damn good song 8)

DANNY ELFMAN SUCKS A BIG ONE!

I could list 50 living composers whose boots he is not worthy to lick...and yet Elfman is richer than all of them put together!

Had to comment on this one for some reason or another, don't know why...

My all-time favorite band.  These guys were so musically ahead of the pack from the performance and songwriting side of things (IMHO).  They actually started off as a performance art group called "The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo" started by Danny's older brother, Richard.  Off of the top of my head they had something like 15 or so bandmembers when the group was in it's early form.  A little trivia, they appeared on the Gong Show and got 24 points without getting gonged.

Weird Science is just an incredible tune - takes me back to the 80s every single time.  8)

They had lots of good songs, as I already mentioned, but I think my favorite Boingo song will "Stay" the same for now. ;)

I like all of them, and more.

I have several OB videos in my collection, and can honestly say that the video for "Little GIrls" is among the most disturbing that I have ever seen.  There is no way that it could be done today.

Danny Elfman has since gone on to become a popular composer of soundtracks.  His style is unique, and I can normally recognize it even before I know who it is.  THe first time I saw "Men In Black", I told myself that it was either Elfman, or somebody trying to sound like Elfman.

Stewart Copeland is another 80's star who has been in high demand as a movie composer.

It all depends on who you ask.  By most people, it is considered to be about a pedophile.  There is another group that thinks it is about a guy who accidentially picks up a girl who is under age.  Then there is a minority that thinks it is about somebody who likes girls that are "little" (as in "small").

And you are right, there is absolutely no way that it could be done today.  Of course, the 1980's were a very different time.

I love little girls they make me feel so good
I love little girls they make me feel so bad
When they're around they make me feel
Like I'm the only guy in town
I love little girls they make me feel so good
They don't care if I'm a one way mirror
They're not frightened by my cold exterior
They don't ask me questions
They don't want to scold me
They don't look for answers
They just want to hold me
Isn't this fun
Isn't this what life's all about
Isn't this a dream come true
Isn't this a nightmare too
(Repeat first verse)
They don't care about my inclinations
They're not frightened by my revelations
Uh oh take a second take
Uh oh it's a mistake
Uh oh I'm in trouble
Uh oh the little girl was just to little
Too little, too little, too little
Isn't this what life's all about
Isn't this a dream come true
Isn't this a nightmare too . . .
And I don't care what people say
And I don't care what people think
And I don't care how we look walking down the street
(Repeat Chorus)
(Repeat first verse)

I just love 'We Close Our Eyes'. Bangles lead singer, Susanna Hoffs covered it and I also adore her version - he sweet voice suits it even though it's quite different to the original.

Oingo Boingo is one of my favorite bands, I've always liked

Nothing to Fear
Only a Lad
Private Life
Who Do You Want to Be
Dead Man's Party
Wake Up (It's 1984)
Grey Matter
Reptiles and Samurais
No One Lives Forever

Also worth mentioning are Happy and Better Luck Next Time off the soundtracks to the films Summer School and The Last American Virgin, respectively.
