Talk about wierd but true... Star trek technology is a double edged sword.
You have not been had. They (2 international labs)
have already brought a goat to maturity
from frozen embryo to birthed goat in an artificial womb with

Synthetic amniotic fluid formulai. Formulai that have been Patented
by well known biotech firms. Because it is not directly related to
stemcells, it's considered legit embryonic research and has the
potential to bring miscarraiged 1st trimester children
to 9month maturity synthetically,
via the "Orgawomb."

Some of the implications of the technology
are being discussed here.
http://www.amazing1.com/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl
15 years before any of these
machine prototypes will be presented to the FDA AMA.

And we thought stem cell debates were bad...
This will pit men against women.

But on a lightner note, you could make one
heckova batch of Sea Monkys.

I'm looking into this.  Crazy...  Not related to stemcell reasearch = end-run around a certain knuckle-dragging-bible-thumper who shall remain nameless ;)...

Getting AMA on board may be a tough nut to crack, though...

BTW, Sea Monkeys are good with cocktail sauce groove ;) on...

Edited to add:  Dang, uber-googlerizing "Orgawomb" is giving me squat... >:(

My first search, last night, gave me synthetic amniotic fluid called "SafeStart"...

  Linkey--> SafeStart

Of course, an "artificial womb" search, duh..! :D  I was tired, it was late and the smoke was good.  Thanks tetratron...

Could the 'artificial womb' be the biologic equivalent to the 'Skinner Box"..?

Here's another article I've read concerning this: Men redundant?...

A fascinating article.  I am also, as always, pleased with The Guardian's ability to present multiple sides of a story.  In this case balancing the scientific achievement with the social and ethical questions it brings about groove ;) on...
