Subject: Frankie Says Relax

Can anyone tell me what the "real" quote from the tee shirts from the eighties said?  Is it "Frankie Says Relax" or "Frankie Say Relax"?

I think this is your answer:

Ok, thanks.  I've been going on sites to buy the shirt, and I've seen it both ways.  I like "says" better.

There were parodies on the shirt too, but that is the Real McCoy.

The inlay to the "Welcome to the Pleasuredome" cassette I have, has a little order form for the shirts, and shows a picture of Holly Johnson and Paul Rutherford wearing ones that read "Frankie Say Relax"

I saw a twist on the shirt in another video. The last person who walks in to talk to Phil Collins wears a shirt emblazoned with "BILLY SAY DON'T" ::). I wonder if "LOSE MY NUMBER" was on the back! ;D Anyone else ever see shirts like this?

Your Pal,
Doc

My original 'new-for'84' shirt had print on both front and back:

FRONT: 'FRANKIE SAYS 'RELAX'
BACK: 'When you want to COME'

Needless to say, my mother was horrified when I bought it  :o

I was watching some program about 1984 and it was funny watching people walk around with this on a t-shirt completely oblivious to what it really means.  Hilarious.

Okay, just to clear up any and all confusion regarding the famed 80's slogan t-shirts, It is "FRANKIE SAY RELAX DON'T DO IT", ohters in the series were "FRANKIE SAY ARM THE UNEMPLOYED" and "FRANKIE SAY WAR HIDE YOURSELF".

My Frankie shirt said "Frankie Bang!" on the back.
