For me Madonna is the best pop-dance artist,she got greatest and most of all hits ,especially on album "Like a Virgin".

I picked other:  I liked Nick Kamen

I remember and still love his song "Each Time You Break My Heart" 8)


...which was actually co-written by Madge! And I think she sings on it, too!

He was best known here for taking off his trousers in a launderette, while fair young maidens would be drooling over him...

I tried it once and got arrested!

On that list though I voted Whitney on the strength of her first 2 albums. Rick Astley wasn't bad either!

She co-produced it and sang back-up yes. 

I always wonder if that Levis Ad was broadcast over here, because I remember an ad like that from the 80s.  It might have been that one, as Kamen did have mainstream chart success here.  He wasn't popular in the States, though he did have a hit in the clubs with a Shep Pettibone remix of "Each Time You Break My Heart"
