Nice choices there Midas, even Pray was okay at the time... in fact that's probably the only song of his I liked.

I had Shaun Cassidy's Da Doo Run Run album, and then moved on to Foghat Live 8track when I was about 12.. Got my first cassette (Rolling Stones Tattoo You) when I was about 14. I still had albums and 45's but was starting to transition into cassettes around 8th grade.

I bought the CD single because I was unable to find the remixes on vinyl.  Still drop that track from time to time.

Well my first music came from bootleg tapes my dad bought me from Tehran(now Iran) when he went there with the R.A.F. ;D
the first music I bought myself would be some 7 inch singles.
Coward of the county by Kenny Rogers and I don't like mondays by The Boomtown Rats!

Can't remember the album but I'm sure it was vinyl. I started buying cassettes for a bit because I didn't have a stereo for a while (only a little cassette player). I didn't get a CD player until the 1990.

I didn't know he was popular in the States.  He was a Canadian.  I wonder if he still performs these days

EDIT:  I remember an episode of Full House where Michelle was addicted to his 1978 classic "Baby Beluga" :D
