Subject: HELP NEEDED- 80's costumes

Written By: candice411 on 09/21/06 at 10:15 pm

My husband and I are in need of 80's outfits for a party.  There are so many choices we don't know how to narrow it down.  I want to wear something that screams 1980's, BUT what???  Punk, Wham, Valley, Madonna, Vice.  PLEASE HELP as this is in a week (9/25)
Thanks,

For you ---- I would definitely go with Madonna and DEFINITELY a drab from her EARLY stuff like, 'Like a Virgin', or 'Borderline'.  Something 1982-84 at least, where she donned all that teased hair, bangle earrings, and cootchie outfits.

As for your hubby --- I would recommend either Miami Vice (the Don Johnson "look"), or the Karate Kid (you know, the 'Daniel-son' hair scoff, and cut-off shirt) --- recently at an all 80's dance night at a local club, one guy wore just that look, and won the door prize for best male costume.  Your hubby could also try doing the 'Marty McFly' thing, with the parachute pants, and Michael Jackson BEAT IT jacket, but those items might be more difficult to come by at Goodwill stores, or even Ebay.

Hope I was helpful               GOOD LUCK

How about dressing up as The A-Team?
