Subject: Weird request - but I need ideas for a mix cd
Written By: wsmith4 on 02/05/07 at 7:06 am
Hey guys... ok I know this is weird but I'm a weird person so what can I say...
I was wondering if you could help me build a list of cheesy 80's ballads, almost like easy listening for a cd I want to make. I have great memories as a kid of going to Jamesway with my parents and there are certain songs that I hear that take me back to then... that they always played in Jamesway. So I want to make a CD of those songs.
So far I have:
Whitney houston all the man that I need
Taylor dayne love will lead you back
Roxette must have been love
Starship nothings gonna stop us now
Any others would be greatly appreciated!

Ah...You are right.
You ever have one of those days where your fingers don't type as fast as your mind races? I had meant to type Lady in red by Chris DeBurgh and Hungry Eyes by Eric Carmen. But it got all jumbled up in my head and that is what I ended up typing.

As were these...
Whitney houston all the man that I need
Taylor dayne love will lead you back
Roxette must have been love
Okay, to save splitting hairs, the last two were from 1990, so you may get away with that...
But not with Whitney...
...not because that song was from 1991, but because you should never have Whitney on a CD! >:( :D

I can honestly, hand on heart, say that if I never hear another Whitney song in my life...then I won't be heartbroken!
But huge back in the day...undisputedly!
(So someone must have been buying her dross by the bucketload!)

I've got a ton of early 80s tunes on my iPod. As soon as I figure out how to export the library into a readable text format from my Mac, I'll post it.

Despite the slight overload of Lionel Richie songs lol, does anyone like some of my childhood favorites?
Of course that's just the tip of the iceberg, and not counting the '80s songs I discovered in the '90s. That's a list of its own right there.
