Rent "Flashdance," "Fame," "The Breakfast Club" (watch Molly Ringwald dance) and "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." Those should help you with some 80's moves.

I remember "The Snake" and still sometimes see people doing it (I guess a few people out there are still stuck in the '80s -- which isn't a bad place to be actually).
"Cabbage Patch" is also a popular one that I've only seen on television, mostly in the middle of a joke of some sort.

Excellent reference, here:
If you look at "Fast Times At Ridgemont High", it's explained about 3 girls who cultivated the "Pat Benatar" look there.
In the beginning, in the cafeteria, and at the Last Dance of the year.
Those are excellent scenes for dance AND looks.
