Shirt Tales.

The Wuzzles were a bunch of characters that had mixtures of two animals.

For example, I remember one being mixed with elephant and butterfly.

The Shirt Tales were different animals that wore certain shirts. I watched them both; though I watched the Wuzzles more.

I NEVER lowered myself to the standards of these two programs.  I watched "The Smurfs", "Kissyfur", "Gummi Bears", and "Snorks".  The stupid cartoons you mentioned were not good enough for me.

"Kissyfur" wasn't worth the airtime.  Richie Rich, now THAT was a cartoon!!!! :)

Never heard of Shirt Tales before but this wiki page says that they started out as Hallmark greetings cards and then became the cartoon show.

As a very young child, I watched stuff like:

-The Smurfs
-The Kids Super Power Hour With SHAZAM
-Dungeons & Dragons
-Laff-A-Lympics
-Pandamonium!
-Hercules (NOT the Disney one; there was one from the '70s, I think, in syndication)

Occasionally watched others, like:

-Blackstar
-Teen Wolf
-Plastic Man
-Penelope Pitstop
-Stop That Pigeon!

And other things.

Anyone remember a cartoon called "Paw-Paw Bears"?

About these little bears, who lived kinda like Native Americans, that had a Totem they activated, when they were in need of protection?

Gulity confession - I bought all the Paw Paw figurines a few months back on ebay.  ;D I just loved the whole Native American concept as a kid, so that cartoon was right up my street. I also bought a 2 episode vhs from ebay for old times sake.

*** this is not my collection by the way ***

I also loved the Monchhichi cartoon. I have some episodes on video.

Oh my god, y'all. I remember watching The Kid Super Power Hour and having a big old crush on Captain California when the band sang. That's a secret I should have taken to my grave.

I was never big on the funny animal cartoons like Foofur or the weird creature ones like The Trollkins.

Speaking of weird creatures, did anyone ever watch The New Shmoo? It wasn't until some time later that I found out what a shmoo was and then skeeved myself out by wondering if those kids snacked on The New Shmoo during commercial breaks. Ew.

I never seen it myself.

I remember that was on a list on 10 worst cartoons ever(in a magazine I own).

What about Alvin and The Chipmunks????  Now that's a cartoon!!!!!!  Give me Smurfs, Alvin and The Chipmunks, Kissyfur, Gummie Bears, Monchichi, Dungeons and Dragons, Muppet Babies,  Garfield and Friends, Mr. T, The Littles, Punky Brewster, anyday!!!!!  I didn't like Snorks.  It's nothing but a copy cat of The Smurfs.

I know because I used to watch the old school version of it when it was on syndication.  My father watched it, and listen to its songs back in the day.  I grew up on the 80s version if it when it first came out.

When I first saw the trailer of it, I was pissed because it didn't look like the 80s version of the Chipmunks that we Gen Xers are used to.  Alvin didn't have his hat on.  Simon look like he's retarded or something.  The only one that looked like the cartoon version was Theodore, and now they tried to make The Chipmunks look all thugged out like 50-Cent or Jay-Z.  I mean, don't get me wrong.  The voices of the Chipmunks are still original like the 80s version.  I might go see it because it looks funny, but I don't know.  I'm used to the 80s version of the Chipmunks.  Why are they ruining our childhood by making this?  What's next, the live-action version of The Smurfs?????
