Back then the popular foods (at least with me, my friends, and my other peers) were Whatchamacallits candy bars, candy necklaces, Charms bubblegum pops, Tootsie Roll pops, and just about anything on the Carl's Jr. and Pizza Hut menus.

definately those Candy Necklaces
Also ... Ring Pops, Chews (those little circular sour gum pieces), and all kinds of chocolate bars

Pop Rocks, Hostess Pudding Pies, Now and Laters, Tato Skins, The McDLT, McDonald's Chicken Nuggets.

I'd forgotten that McDLT's were that old.Wendy's was strong in the eighties, also. How old are "Dippin Dots"? 8) 8)

Mac Tonight meals
McRib sandwich
"Western Bacon" hamburgers (several chains had them in the mid-late 1980's)
M&M Royals (mint chocolate)
Space Ice Cream
Raisins (especially California Raisins)
Bar None candy bars
Chery Soda (Pepsi, Coke, RC, &-Up, etc)
Pepsi Free (loved by Valley Girls and Michael J. Fox)
Yoghurt (everything from drinks to frozen)
Gummy (Bears, Rats, and Worms)
Potatoe Skins
And of course one 80's junk food that everybody hated:

I used to pour an entire pack of Pop Rocks into my soda and watch them pop and explode one by one.
