Wasn't the 80's the only decade to really use the robot voice? Of course the robo dance is distinctly 80's.

Get thee back to Belgium, where Kraftwerk's "The Robots" was the track that brought the Vocoder to pop culture.

Reminds me, an EMS-5000 should probably be emulatable in a pound or two of hardware and $100 of spare parts these days.  I always did want a gadget to make me sound like the Cylons on 1978's original Battlestar Galactica.

That would be the Emilio Pazquez Space Face Full Remix of "No Clause 28" by Boy George.

Some other tracks from the 80's that feature the robotic voice:

Freestyle - "Don't Stop The Rock", "In Your Face", "It's Automatic", "The Party Has Begun" (pretty much everything put out by this artist)
Midnight Star - "Freak-A-Zoid"
Afrika Bambaataa & Soul Sonic Force - "Planet Rock"
Hashim - "Al-Naafiysh (The Soul)"
Maggotron - "Bass Invaders"
Sleeze Boyz - "Robo Cop"

"Radio People" - By Zapp. Used in the "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", in the scene before Cameron goes berserk.
