Subject: Favorite Police song from the 80s

I goofed on this poll and wanted to allow two choices, but got ahead of myself. Oops!

I pretty much went down the list of their 1986 hits package, "The Singles", but added a couple of my own.

My choices: Spirits In The Material World and Driven To Tears.

Love 'em all but from this list chose Synchronicity II.  You didn't have an "other" choice and in that case it would've been "Secret Journey.

Probably Don't stand so close to me. The Police are a weird band for me because I kind of like them but not that bothered about them at the same time.

Roxanne is really the only Police song I hate.

Every Little Thing... is a nice wee tune.

For me, easily 'Every Breath You Take'.  A close second would be 'Spirits in the Material World' followed by 'King of Pain'

Their 1979 album 'Regetta De Blanc' was their only original album that failed to produce a US Top 40 hit :(

Here's a little trivia for you:  Sting was given co-writing credits (and half the royalties) on the Dire Straits song 'Money For Nothing' because the lyric "I want my MTV" which he sings was a re-write of 'Don't Stand So Close to Me'

I went for Message In A Bottle but they were all pretty good.

Every Breath is way too overplayed though. I can't listen to it on the radio anymore.

  King of Pain...

The lyrics must be some kinda profound...

  That's my soul up there...
A skeleton choking on a crust of bread...

Wowsers.  I wish Id've wrote that song...

I cant pick a fav as they are one of my all time favourite bands since the late 70s.

I had a brilliant centre front row seat to their gig in Perth on Feb 2nd this years and they were fantastic.

Here are a couple of my photos from the gig.
