there was a movie in the 80's that came out about a guy, a girl, a mummified grandpa in the basement and crystal skulls. there was a worm pet thing and goofy stuff like that, the lead guy looks like paul rise, but is blonde, he was in alot of bad romantic comedies and sci-fi flicks then, any clues let me know!

Pretty sure that was House II: Second story with Ayre Gross and Bill Maher. Never saw it, but I remember the ads in comic books
