Subject: Starship song poll

So what's everyone's favorite Starship song, if they have any?

My favourite is 'Before I Go' from their 'Knee Deep in the Hoopla' album.  It wasn't a BIG hit (fell outside of the Top 40 in both the US and Canada), but because it was written by Canadian singer/songwriter (and Christopher Cross sound-a-like) David Roberts, it qualified for CANCON and got MAJOR radio play across Canada.  It is a song I remember well and always brings back happy memories of my youth :)

I'll have to go with the obvious 'We Built This City'. 'Sara' was a nice ballad too.

'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us' was a bit too dreary for me. However, 'Mannequin' was an excellent film! :)

Definitely Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now. One of those great, feel-good songs that always puts a smile on my face whenever I hear it! :)

Yeah, I agree. "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" is my favourite Starship song, too.

I was never a big fan of Starship or any variation of their name but there are songs by them
that I really like. In the 80s my favorite was a song from their album, Nuclear Furniture called
Assassin. Though I wasn't a big fan of theirs they were excellent live. I saw them at the Tower
Theater in Philadelphia just after the albums release, great concert.

Going with Starship's Rock Myself to Sleep, also off 1985's Knee Deep in the Hoopla.

For comparison, here's April Wine's original, (1985, Walking Through Fire).

I'll give the nod to April Wine's version for being first - but only by a nose, and only by months, and only because of the video :)

^ Actually, the original appearance of April Wine's version was not on the 'Walking Through Fire' album, but the soundtrack to 'Fright Night' which it was written for.

I always thought Starship's cover version was very well done.
