That's not really new.  It came out in August :P

It is a good song though and marks A-ha's 23rd hit in the UK

True, though I didn't see it posted before, so I figured it worked (well, that and the fact that release information for a-ha in the states is pretty much dead).

This is true yes.  The last hit a-ha had in America was 'Cry Wolf' in 1986.

Even in Canada, news on a-ha is scarce, even though they have had Top 40 album and single appearances here outside of the 80s

The a-ha Singles (North America and the UK) ...
1985 - Take On Me
1985 - The Sun Always Shines on TV
1986 - Train of Thought
1986 - Hunting High and Low
1986 - I've Been Losing You
1986 - Cry Wolf
1987 - Manhattan Skyline
1987 - The Living Daylights
1988 - Stay on These Roads
1988 - The Blood That Moves the Body
1988 - Touchy!
1988 - You Are the One
1990 - Crying in the Rain
1990 - I Call Your Name
1991 - Early Morning
1991 - Move to Memphis
1993 - Dark is the Night
1993 - Angel
1994 - Shapes That Go Together
2000 - Summer Moved On
2002 - Forever Not Yours
2006 - Analogue (All I Want)
2006 - Cosy Prisons
2009 - Foot of the Mountain

The Analogue album was soulful - a delight.

I wish their follow-ons had reached greater heights in the U.S., but our attention spans stink  :(

And for heaven's sake - they only made a #1 video here and a BOND INTRO SONG!!  >:(

Are they touring?

Not in the states, unfortunately, though they appear to be booked pretty solid in Germany, France, Norway, the UK, and even Japan. I heard rumor before the release of Foot of the Mountain that there was serious consideration of a US tour, so I'm hoping that something might come of it. As I understand it, they did one show in NYC a couple or years back and sold out almost instantaneously.

I saw 'Foot of the Mountain' in stores today.  I wonder if (or atleast hope) it will make an impact in Canada.  Didn't ever see it on the new release shelf, just filed under A.

I've been checking the stores here without any luck. I've seen both Minor Earth, Major Sky and Lifelines in one of the stores here, but only after they'd already been out for a year or so. When I went there today they didn't even have a slot for a-ha. I was hoping when "Velvet" made it into One Night at McCool's that it might get some airplay in the States, but it doesn't seem like anything came of it. In any case, I ordered Foot fo the Mountain off Amazon earlier, so I should be covered. Just wish they'd actually get some airplay.

From the official A-Ha community website, I found out that the trio have since released new singles for UK ("Nothing Is Keeping You Here") and the world minus UK ("Shadowside"). Both were released on September 21.

Nothing Is Keeping You Here

Shadowside

There appear to be no videos for either song (yet). I don't know why they've released two different songs at the same time. Seems to me like "Nothing Is Keeping You Here" is more likely to become a hit.

I couldn't find any confirmed tour dates for Northern America, although they seem to plan to go touring there in Spring 2010.
