yeah I saw that somewhere too... the only good Vacation movies were written by John Hughes... so I have to think this will be a bad, bad idea.

It's gotta be Clark (Chevy Chase) and Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo) or it isn't a Vacation movie.  Accept no substitutes!

My favourite will always be 'European Vacation'.  It was the only one that had racy elements that gave it an R rating.  That scene where they are in Rome trying on clothes features the song 'New Looks' by Dr. John.  That is one of the most requested songs out there, and from what I've seen, no one seems to know if an actual version of it exists

This has got bad news written all over it....Vacation should stay in the 80's!

Also, I enjoyed European Vacation the screenplay wasn't as good as the original.  I think Chevy was able to improvise a lot more in the original, and that's what made it the best one for me.  Rusty was not convincing enough, and Audrey just darn right annoying.

I would place European 3rd behind Christmas, which ran the original very close.
